Call Me Violent and I'll Kill You

Muslims blow another opportunity to show the world how Islam has turned them into peaceful humans.
Tigerhawk has a post that is just perfect in which he quotes Ralph Peters NYPost column today:
Yes, the culture is Islamic, even in nominally secular states. But we have to ask some very politically incorrect questions that cut even deeper. Many of the social, governmental and psychological structures at the core of Middle Eastern societies pre-date Islam. Authoritarian government; a slave-like status for women; pervasive corruption; labor viewed as an evil to be avoided; the relegation of learning to narrow castes; economies that rely on trade rather than productivity to generate wealth, even the grandiose rhetoric - all were in place long before Islam appeared.
The repeated failures we've witnessed go far beyond a religion on its sickbed. Instead of Islam being the Middle East's problem, what if Islam's problem is the Middle East?
UPDATE: Setting church aflame to show the world you're not violent.
UPDATE: They are angry because they think that the Pope may have implied that Islam isn't a religion of peace (ROP)? That's not what the Pope said, but that is beside the point. It now looks like they are so angry at being called violent (they weren't) that they shot a nun [in the back?]who volunteers at a children's hospital. I'll be waiting for the details, which should be coming soon as there were arrests in the caes.
UPDATE: A London based Arabic newspaper writes:
There is no difference between Osama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri speaking from their caves in Tora Bora and the stage of an important Christian saint. Both parties contribute to the world verbal weapons for mass destruction.
With one exception, in both cases it is the Muslims who become violent. It isn't as if the Pope, tossing off his verbal weapons, has incited Catholics to firebomb and murder. Damn, don't these people hear themselves?
